Empowering WebOps Excellence at Drupal GovCon 2025: How AI is Transforming Project Management

Using AI to improve project management processes was recently explored in depth at Drupal GovCon 2025. During the conference, Digital Polygon COO Jeramy Gatza led a packed, hands-on training session on "Empowering WebOps Excellence: Harnessing AI Tools for Modern Project Management." The room was filled with project managers, scrum masters, and product owners ready to see how artificial intelligence can cut through the noise to streamline and supercharge workflows.

A Hands-On Dive into AI-Driven WebOps

Instead of focusing on theory and hypotheticals, this three-hour workshop pushed session attendees to roll up their sleeves and collaboratively build real, ready-to-implement solutions. Drawing from Drupal development lifecycles and best practices, participants explored how AI can transform project management, through:

• Building a project backlog with AI assistance and exploring opportunities to quickly generate, refine, and prioritize backlog items with ChatGPT.
• Using AI prompts to refine user stories and acceptance criteria. Even the best ideas can fall victim to poor planning. The group developed and used AI prompts to turn vague ideas into actionable, testable requirements that accurately mapped to pre-defined user stories.
• Automating workflows by using tools like Copilot and Notebook LM to eliminate repetitive tasks and streamline communication.
• Replacing manual testing with AI automated testing. The group leveraged AI to catch issues earlier, validate deployments, and continuously improve.

From Theory to Toolkit: AI Prompt Engineering in Action

Managing a Drupal or WebOps project is already a balancing act between stakeholders, developers, and timelines. Prompt engineering is the missing layer that turns AI into a true collaborator.
